Our three 100 % silk yarns include Joukahainen, Lemminkäinen and Tuuletar. Joukahainen and Lemminkäinen are spun in Great Britain, Tuuletar comes from India.
Silk is truly an astonishing fiber, which feels cool to the skin in the summer, yet is very warm in the winter. Silk is a smooth, soft fiber which caresses even the most delicate of complexions.Silk garments and accessories have tons of drape and are luxurious and shiny. To bring out the best in silk, knit it to a slightly looser gauge than woollen items.
JOUKAHAINEN
Fingering weight 100% silk yarn Joukahainen is a 2-ply yarn for shawls, scarves, light-weight sweaters and accessories.
Handwash strongly recommended.

Cobweb weight 100% silk yarn Lemminkäinen is a 2-ply yarn for shawls, scarves, light-weight sweaters and accessories.

TUULETAR
Tuuletar is the newest silk yarn in our selection. This ethical and ecological yarn comes from India. The silk cocoons used to spin this yarn is collected by hand from forests inhabited by wild silk moths. Only the cocoons are collected and all silk moths continue to live happily ever after. Cocoons are collected and spun to yarn by local women from nearby villages, thus providiing them with income.
This single-ply yarn is luxurious and soft yarn and perfect for accessories.

Silk Blend Yarns
Ilmatar
Ilmatar is a soft and luxurious 2-ply merino-silk blend yarn. Sold in 50 g skeins, it has beautiful drape while being incredibly warm.
Ilmatar is designed to be used for lace projects and accessories. It is also suitable for weaving.
Handwash strongly recommended.

KIPINÄTÄR
One of our most luxurious yarns ever, Kipinätär is true bliss to work with. 4-ply superwash merino and silk blend is soft and warm with incredible sheen and drape. The photos will never do justice to this beautiful yarn - it must be experienced! One of the prettiest colorways in Kipinätär is Noki, intense charcoal black. It reveals its true sparkling character only when brought to daylight.
Kipinätär will not felt, but as it is a merino and silk blend, we recommend hand-washing for this yarn.
