EIKU Vellamo Yarns

Lace weight 2-ply merino yarn Vellamo has beautiful drape while being incredibly warm. We also offer Vellamo Superwash, which is identical to the regular Vellamo yarn, but it will not felt. These yarns are otherwise identical.

Vellamo and Vellamo Superwash are perfect yarns to be used for lace projects and accessories. It is also suitable for weaving.

Handwash strongly recommended.

These yarns are spun in Great Britain using mulesing-free South African Merino wool.

Concerning Eikus

Eikus are special cases, results of trial and error, and only a limited number of skeins are available for ordering. Usually Eikus cannot be repeated exactly as photographed, but our dyeing wizards may attempt similar results. If you see an Eiku colorway which appeals to you, but the number of skeins in stock is not quite enough, let us know. We are happy to create custom colorways for you! 

Order the amount you need as a custom dye job, and let us know which colorway you have in mind. Custom batches are dyed in the same pot and are guaranteed to be of the same dyelot!

Recommended needle size 2.5-5 mm (US #1½ to #8).

Recommended gauge in stockinette stitch 20-36 sts / 10 cm (5 to 9 stitches per inch).
