EIKU Tuulen Tytär Yarns
Tuulen Tytär is our very first merino yarn ever. It has been crafters' favorite for years, and for a good reason. This soft and elastic fingering weight yarn holds shape for years, and is soft enough for even the most delicate skin types.
Tuulen Tytär is perfect for cable knits and structured stitch patterns. The relatively high twist in this 4-ply yarn enables all knit and purl stitches to stand out in the knitted fabric.
Tuulen Tytär can be knit to a tight gauge, but it behaves best when knitted up with bigger needle sizes than what is usual for fingering weight yarns. The elasticity of merino allows for the garment to maintain shape and warmth even when worked into a slightly looser gauge.
Tuulen Tytär is spun of superwash merino and it will not felt. However, we recommend hand-washing for this yarn.
These yarns are spun in Great Britain using mulesing-free South African Merino wool.
Concerning Eikus
Eikus are special cases, results of trial and error, and only a limited number of skeins are available for ordering. Usually Eikus cannot be repeated exactly as photographed, but our dyeing wizards may attempt similar results. If you see an Eiku colorway which appeals to you, but the number of skeins in stock is not quite enough, let us know. We are happy to create custom colorways for you!
Order the amount you need as a custom dye job, and let us know which colorway you have in mind. Custom batches are dyed in the same pot and are guaranteed to be of the same dyelot!
